Why is this important?

Creating a SOLIDWORKS ID gives you access to a number of resources including the Customer Portal, my.solidworks.com and new online licensing. Get access to a wide range of technical resources including the Knowledge Base, software and service pack downloads, learning resources and much more.

  1. Go to customerportal.solidworks.com
  2. Click on Create a SOLIDWORKS ID
  3. Enter email address and serial number

New Standalone License

Steps to Download and Install a New Standalone Product

Standalone licenses are for one user. Once the license is activated, no internet connection or network server is required to start SOLIDWORKS. The activation stays on the user’s computer until they deactivate the license from that computer.

To download and install your new standalone product, have your serial number starting with 9000 or 0000 on hand and click the arrows to follow the 5 steps.

New SolidNetWork License

Steps to Download and Install a New SolidNetWork Product

Network (Floating) licenses are activated on one server within the user's company network. They may contain multiple products within a single license which all share one serial number.
